Involving Communities and Other Stakeholders in Disease Elimination Programmes under Sustainable Development Goals in South-East Asia

The concept of community participation to achieve significant health outcomes has been brought to the fore in various health policies in India. It is essential not only to use resources from the community for but also as their right to participate and sharing power and control. Involvement of NGOs, CBOs and other important stakeholders is equally crucial as they have deep insight of the community’s need and values.

As an initiative, VHAI through research developed the document in collaboration with WHO which encourages and propagates the concept of involving communities, NGOs, CBOs and other important stakeholders to bring about valuable outcomes in health.
