Online Training of National Trainers on Eat Right Toolkit by NHSRC, FSSAI AND VHAI

The Eat Right India Movement’ by FSSAI, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India is a nation-wide movement with a focus on preventive and promotive healthcare through social and behavioural change on eating healthy and safe food. It is aligned with Government recent initiative’s ‘Ayushman Bharat’, ‘Jan-Aandolan’ & ‘Poshan Abhiyaan’.

As a part of the movement, an ‘Eat Right’ toolkit has been developed which aims to engage and enable citizens to eat healthy and safe food. The toolkit has been co-developed by three organizations: Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI) & National Health Systems Resource Centers (NHSRC). The toolkit through its engaging component aims to target front-line health workers as well as local communities. It will reach out to the citizens through the channel of Health & Wellness Centres under AYUSHMAN BHARAT platform of Government of India.

Around 40 National trainers have been trained online on the ‘Eat Right’ Toolkit collectively by FSSAI, VHAI & NHSRC under the aegis of MoHFW, Government of India. The State trainers will be trained in the next few months, subsequently the state trainers will train Medical Officers & CHOs, who will further train the staff of Health & Wellness Centers (HWCs) for wider dissemination of information among the local communities.

This toolkit has been also contextualized and translated by VHAI in five languages- Hindi, Punjabi, Oriya, Assamese & Gujarati. The Eat Right Toolkit can be downloaded at  https://eatrightindia.gov.in/index
