Eat Right Mela at IGNCA, New Delhi

December 14-16, New Delhi 2018

FSSAI has organized Eat RIght Mela from 14-16 December at INGCA, New Delhi in collaboration with National Street Food Festival. VHAI was invited as a resource organization to take orientation session on EAT RIGHT toolkit of more than 500 ASHA workers and ANMS, 600 Anganwadi workers and more than 500 nodal teachers of Mid-meal programme .

Dr. Nancepreet Kaur, Senior Programme Officer has been appointed as resource person for the orientation sessions. The session included importance of healthy eating, ways to improve the nutrition,how to detect food adulteration at home by simple tests, importance of nutrition during first 1000 days of life, encouraging ASHA & ANMs to spread awareness about their communities using Eat Right Toolkit.

Eat Toolkit has been co-developed by three organization- FSSAI, VHAI & NHSRC. Eat Right Toolkit has two components: Eat Right Handbook for frontline workers and IEC tools for beneficiaries.

Eat Right Handbook focuses on making healthy food choices and bilding healthy habits. It encourages citizens to choose nutritious and healthy food in right proportions and limits food high in fat, sugar and salt.
