State Multi- actor Working Committee’s meeting under the programme “Realising the Right to Adequate Food and Nutrition” was organised at Guwahati, Assam on 12th April 2019.
State Level Multi Actor Committee Meeting was formed in the year 2017 during the initiation stage of Realising the Right to Adequate Food and Nutrition programme. The committee comprises of representatives from the key government departments, research based organizations, State Women Commission, State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights, Institute of Social Work, SDG cell etc. MAWC members meet at the regular interval with our team members and members of women federation
Several suggestion came from the member during the meeting of 12th April which are as follows:
To prepare a convergence model for the stakeholder departments to follow. The model should be developed by the team under expertise and suggestions of the MAWC members
The members suggested that the policy recommendations document prepared under the programme must be submitted to the Minister, Social Welfare and other important stakeholders from PNRD and Health Department through one-to-one meetings
The MAWC members have also proposed an exposure visit of stakeholders under the project must be conducted on June end or earlier July. Dr. Dubey has proposed that the exposure visit may be made to Tamil Nadu to see the effective functioning of the Anganwadi Centres and implementation of the National Nutrition Strategy in the State. Dr. Dubey has assured that he can use his contacts in the State to facilitate the visit.
The MAWC members are also proposing to the Govt. for the inclusion of the women federation leaders in the district level Govt forum such as District Development Committee.
