Naresh, a poor labour was identified by Axshya CV during their door to door visit. After their interaction, the CV learned that Naresh is exhibiting TB symptoms. Upon listing his name and facilitated his testing, Naresh was found to be TB positive. After diagnosis, Naresh and his family shifted to another district without informing the CV.
Due to lack of information regarding treatment services and worsening symptoms, Naresh approached a private doctor for medicines and followed treatment for 2 months but due to unaffordability of the medicines, he stopped the treatment which led to poor health and exaggerated symptoms. Naresh’s wife Sarojini approached the CV again and explained the entire situation to him, requesting for help.
CV with the help of District Coordinator and STS did a telephonic follow up with STS Forbesganj and helped Naresh in treatment initiation. CV also helped them in opening bank account for DBT transfer. Now, Naresh is receiving a free of cost treatment as well as a DBT of Rs 500 every month. Axshya’s efforts were praised by patient and his family.
