As Public Health & Communication Professional  with over ten years’ experience, Binoy has strong skills in developing and implementing strategic communication programs, media management, advocacy, public relations, media liaisoning, and communications with substantive experience in media relations and organizing events. Binoy holds a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication and certificate course on communications from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, United States of America (USA). He also holds a certificate from BBC for training and capacity building in the area of media advocacy in order to build capacities in handling media advocacy issues.

Binoy develops and implements communication strategy at the national and state level and provides technical guidance to the state partners in terms of the distribution of resources, knowledge sharing and constant exchange of information with media and key stakeholders. He also provides support to other public health organizations working on tobacco control in India. During his tenure, he has produced numerous press releases, background documents, opinion editorials, briefing notes and other materials on issues dealing with public health concerns. He also possesses additional skills in implementing social media campaigns with the direct purpose of promoting policy change.

He represented VHAI at many international platforms and has presented papers at various international conferences. He was part of Media Committee Group set up by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India for organizing & coordinating media and communication activities during the Conference of Party (COP) Conference held in India from 7th to 16th Nov, 2016. He is also Member of National Tobacco Control Programme committee of Ministry of health and Family welfare

Mr. Mathew has been recognized for his diligent efforts in media briefs prepared for tobacco control campaigns and received a letter of appreciation from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

He also received Meritorious Service Award from VHAI in 2012 and long service award in 2015 for his outstanding contribution to VHAI.
