The second round of the Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS-2) India data was released at the national level this year on 8th June by Honourable Health Minister and Hon’ble Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare. The second round of Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS 2) 2016-17 state fact-sheets released in Eight North-East States, Jharkhand, Maharashtra & Rajasthan revealed that overall tobacco use prevalence in 11 states has declined among adults and more sustained efforts are required to reduce tobacco use prevalence.
