VHAI team organized an interactive awareness workshop at Bal Bhawan Public School, Mayur Vihar Phase 1, Delhi on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day 2025.
The session centered around this year’s theme — “Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products” — and highlighted how the tobacco industry targets young children through movies, online platforms, peer pressure, and easy access. We also addressed the serious health consequences of tobacco use and vaping.
Over 600 students from classes 9th to 12th participated actively, raising thoughtful questions throughout the session, which made it highly engaging. A short session on nutrition and obesity was also conducted by Dr. Phalguni, which further enriched the discussion.
Additionally, we distributed IEC materials including factsheets on tobacco and nutrition, as well as pamphlets on e-cigarettes and substance abuse. The school management appreciated VHAI’s efforts and acknowledged the positive impact the session had on their students.
Encouraged by the session’s success, the Vice Principal expressed interest in organizing more workshops on additional health-related topics in the future.
