A major reason behind Child Marriages is the concern related to female sexuality stemming out of gender inequality. In this context, VHAI attended an International Learning Event organised at Hotel Novotel, New Delhi from 2nd to 4th March, 2021.
The three-day blended online and offline global learning and exchange event was facilitated by More Than Brides Alliance simultaneously in nine countries. The goal was to generate, gather, exchange and collate knowledge about Child Marriage and sexuality.
The event was attended by practitioners, adolescent girls, youth researchers, and policy makers from nine countries in Asia and Africa.
The interactive platform facilitated the international exchange of a wide range of inferences and concerns about the drivers of Child Marriage.
The Learning Event, thus, gave us the opportunity to discuss and reflect on the link between girls’ sexuality and child marriage, which in turn would contribute to improve the design and implementation of programme and other interventions.
