Observed every year on March 24, World TB Day marks the historic discovery of the TB-causing bacterium in 1882. The 2025 theme, “Yes! We Can End TB – Commit, Invest, Deliver”, calls for intensified global and national action to eliminate tuberculosis.
India aims to eliminate TB by 2025, ahead of the global SDG target of 2030, through initiatives under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).Initiatives like the 100-Day TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan have been launched, focusing on early detection, treatment, and community engagement to eradicate TB.
