| Eye Care Program- in J &K- Supported by Simavi |
 |
Considering the fact that there has been complete negligence in the area of health and development, this project gives special emphasis on community health and also p roviding the much needed eye care in the districtsof Budgam, Pulwama and Balhama. Due to the suspicious nature of people, activities in Balhama were stalled as difficulties arose while organising a health camps in the area.
However, the activities being undertaken under this project were identification of patients needing eye care, getting cataract operations, and organising school health camps. |
Seminars on health awareness were organised which was an effort towards not only generating awreness regarding health issues, but also a means of linking up the health team with the doctors of the Sub - District and District hospital. and give them information on the availability of Govt. schemes on general health and eye care . This program needs to be strengthened with adequate inputs and involvement from the community. |
